Open to Blaise: A Midnight Rendez-Vous
Hermione, along with the rest of the Houses, watched as Blaise practically dragged Draco from the Great Hall.  She looked up, concerned, and caught Blaise's eye.  He mouthed something to her, but she couldn't quite make out what it was.

Instead, she went back to her meal, her mind now occupied with thoughts of what he had said.  Around her, whispers and talking began to cover up their sudden disappearance. Ron and Harry began talking but she paid them no attention.

After what seemed like forever, the feast ended and they were allowed to go to their dormatories.  Hermione gave Ron and Harry the password and left them to their own devices.  She retreated to her own dormatory to wait until 11 o'clock.

THe evening passed slowly for Hermione as she was nervously awaiting her meeting with Blaise.

Finally, at twenty till eleven, she crept downstairs, knowing that people would still be up.  She pretended that she was going to do Prefect duty and managed to slip out the door fairly unseen.

Though she knew she had rights to be out, she still felt nervous and moved as quickly as possible to the Astronomy Tower.  She climbed the stairs quickly and quietly, feeling her heart rate increasing with each step.  At long last, she made it to the top of the tower.

Looking around the flat, gray area of the tower, she wondered where Blaise was.  Glancing down at her watch, she realized that in her nervousness, she had accidentally walked a bit too fast and was five minutes early.

Hoping to calm her nerves, she walked over to the edge of the tower and gazed down at the grounds, hoping everything would go well that night.

Blaise strolled up the stairs with confidence. His mind actually hadn't totally left thoughts of Draco and his problems behind, so he walked briskly, not worrying about the situation to come with Hermione.

That is, until he saw her, gazing out of the tower, her hair flitting around her face. He stopped when he saw her, and his heart tightened. He was afraid of all this being awkward. They hadn't seen eachother in so long...

"You were early..."

Hermione whipped around at Blaise's voice and her heart almost stopped. He looked so gorgeous, standing in the moonlight, still in his school uniform. She couldn't take her eyes off his handsome features, his hazel eyes sparkling under the lock of dark hair that fell in his face.

"I--" she stuttered, realizing she'd been staring. "-I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean... I... Hi."
Blaise Zabini: yummystygian_blaise on October 18th, 2006 08:16 am (UTC)
Blaise smiled. A real smile, not a smirk. It was an almost foreign sensation on his face, but it was a nice change.
He stepped up to her, noting her eyes wandering longingly over him. He was suddenly very aware he was still wearing his uniform, and sub consiously began loosening further his already casually loose tie, and double checking that the first 3 or 4 buttons were in fact undone. He hated being dressed up-tight, so his uniform was never really worn properly. Then again, he wasn't the only seventh year who did this.

"Don't appologize," he said to her, taking her hand and leaning in to kiss her cheek. He wanted to kiss her again, but was afraid to. Which in many ways he knew was ridiculous, considering what they had done the last time they were together....But they had gone a long time with absolutely no contact. He didn't know if things had changed.

He turned to lean on the mid-chest high sill of the outside wall, as Hermione had been doing before he had come up behind her. His hand still resting faintly over hers, she turned too, to stand beside him.

Hermione stood next to Blaise, desperately hoping he couldn't hear the pounding of her heart against her ribcage. She was almost shaking with nerves. She knew she had to calm down quickly before anything else happened. She would never be able to handle him otherwise.

"Sorry, I--Oops," she said again. She bit her lip and avoided his eyes. It wasn't that she didn't want to look at him; she did, but she just felt so damn nervous! She knew she wouldn't be able to look at him without being reminded of what they had done last time.

She knew he was wearing his uniform loosely to attract attention to his best features. He did it purposefully, no matter how much he insisted he didn't like how tight it was. He was always telling her she should wear her uniform to show off her... assets a little more.

She chanced a glance upward at him, given that he was at least 6 inches taller than her, and tried desperately to think of something to break the silence.

"How was your summer?" she asked timidly.
Blaise Zabini: sexystygian_blaise on October 18th, 2006 08:39 am (UTC)
He just looked down at her for a good few seconds. He watched her eyes as the flicked back and forth and he could see how nervous she was. He decided to ingore her question. Casual conversation about the summer and the weather was only going to make it harder.

Blaise raised a hand to rest on her shoulder, and he gently slid it a few inches down to the side of her arm. "Hermione, you're shaking, stop it." He was having trouble keeping her gaze, and was trying to get her to look at him. "Are you afraid of me?"
Hermione Grangerelf_liberator19 on October 18th, 2006 08:50 am (UTC)
"No!" she replied quickly, afraid he would get the wrong idea. "I just--" She stopped herself here and closed her eyes for a moment, willing her emotions under control. She knew she had to calm her nerves if she had any chance of having a normal discussion.

"Blaise," she said slowly, still not meeting his eyes, though she could tell he was trying to get her to look at him. "I don't know what's going on. I've been thinking all summer and I can't figure it out. What are we? What is this? Is this anything? I don't understand. You just... left."

She glanced down at the dark grounds below them, watching as a small animal prowled through the shadows. She just wanted to know what was going on. It was hard enough to be here with him, but what he said could change everything.
Blaise Zabini: yummystygian_blaise on October 18th, 2006 09:03 am (UTC)
Blaise slipped his hand down, and softly laced his fingers in hers. Hearing her quiet gasp, he knew that he had finally succeeded in getting her to look up at him. When she did, he kept his expression as soft as possible, willing her to keep his gaze.

"I'm so sorry. I could never appologize enough. And I know saying sorry doesn't make up for what I did, but I hope you accept it anyway." He inched closer. He had never really been able to look at any of the girls he'd been with and seen it going any where. But this was different. As out of of place and odd as their coupling was, it seemed to just...fit.

"Yesterday I didn't know the answers to any of those questions. I was just as much in the dark as you are. But tonight, tonight I think I see something..." He paused, stroking the back of her hand with his thumb, and searching her face to try and read how her expression was changing as he spoke. "But I'm putting you in the driver's seat, Granger. So what do you see?"
Hermione Granger: poseelf_liberator19 on October 18th, 2006 09:20 am (UTC)
Hermione looked deep into Blaise's eyes, wanting so desperately to believe what he was saying was the truth... that he really did like her.

Her eyes flittered over his face and she couldn't help but think how beautiful he was in this light. She knew she shouldn't be thinking that at such a serious time like this, but she couldn't help it. His good-looks had been one of the things to first attract her to him, aside from his intelligence and that spark that told her he had a heart somewhere, a good heart.

"I--I don't know," she replied finally, her voice just a whisper. "I--I see... Blaise, I don't know what--" She stopped, trying to gather her thoughts but knowing it was useless. "I just want... I--I can't-- I--" SHe cut herself off once more, thinking it was useless to even try to articulate any thought she made have had. The real problem was that she truly didn't know what she thought.

She sighed and tore her eyes away from him, feeling ashamed. For once, she didn't have all the answers.
Blaise Zabini: sexystygian_blaise on October 18th, 2006 09:34 am (UTC)
"You...?" Blaise sighed. "Hermione, you are approaching this all wrong. You are trying to find all the answers, trying to work out the situation like a math problem. That's how your brilliant brain works. But this isn't like being in class. That's not how stuff like this works. That's the beauty of romance. There are no solid answers, no equations, no rules. It's a mistery, and the only way to know it, is to live it." He stared intently into her eyes. He could see the mixed emotions swelling behind them.

He leaned into her neck, and brought his mouth to her ear. "There are no shortcuts," he whispered. Then, pulling back for only a moment, he brought his mouth to hers. Her lips were soft and warm, and as he pressed closer to her, she felt her quiver. Perhaps from the chilly autumn air, or maybe from the contrasting heat of both their bodies, or maybe, from the kiss.

When their lips parted, Blaise kept his face close to Hermione's, barely parting at all, their forheads practically touching. He waited for her move. If she pushed away, he knew he'd been to forward. If she stayed, he knew that maybe he'd managed to convice her that being scared was okay.
Hermione Granger: fieldelf_liberator19 on October 18th, 2006 09:40 pm (UTC)
Hermione stood there for a moment with her eyes closed. She didn't dare open them just yet. She could feel Blaise's warm breath ghosting over her lips and wondered what to do.

"Blaise, I..." she said quietly, finally opening her eyes and pulling back slightly so she could look at him. "It's just the way I am; I can't help it. I want... this and you, but I can never tell..."

She pulled completely away from him now, but left her hand resting on his arm to show that she wasn't giving up, she just didn't know what to do. She'd never been in this situation before. With Ron it had been easy, but that was different. This was different too, but in a completely new way.

After a second thought, she stepped back to Blaise and pressed a light kiss to his lips, hoping it might convey her feelings a bit better than her words could.
Blaise Zabini: Strongstygian_blaise on October 19th, 2006 10:36 pm (UTC)
Blaise's hand went up to rest on Hermione's lower back as she moved in to kiss him again. But this time, something made him pull away.

He looked away, out into the dark of the night sky, a hurt look on his face. "You can never tell what, Hermione?" He asked in a wavering voice. "I want this. But I'm not so sure you feel the same. I know you like me, but you obviously have something that's getting in the way. If it's this hard for you, than maybe I shouldn't be here right now."

He looked back at her, but quickly looked away, knowing the look in his eyes would make him vulnerable. "If this isn't what you really want, then all you had to do was say so." He turned to leave.
Hermione Granger: B&Welf_liberator19 on October 20th, 2006 06:07 am (UTC)
"Blaise, w-wait!" she called as he turned from her. She could hear the desperation in her voice and hated herself for it. But what he had said had hit her hard.

It wasn't that she didn't like him, or want to be with him, it was that he came off as distant at times and she could never tell what he truly felt. Sometimes he slept with other girls. She never said anything about it, but it made her question the depth of their situation.

"Don't go," she said quietly, staring at the back of his head and willing him to turn around. She couldn't help as tiny pinpricks of tears began to well up in the corners of her eyes.
Blaise Zabini: prettystygian_blaise on October 20th, 2006 06:42 am (UTC)
Blaise could hear the tremor in her voice, and he turned around. Slowly, he stepped back towards her.

"I know what you're thinking, Hermione," he started softly. "I wasn't good to you over the summer. But we weren't really...well we weren't really anything. There was never any confirmation, or communication. And at the time...I didn't know what I wanted. But now I do." He hesitated. "Or atleast, I know that I want to try this. My relationships have never really gone much deeper than sex and a couple months of dating. You know that. But just because I didn't want anything more in the past, doesn't mean I don't deserve to want it now."
Hermione Granger: sittingelf_liberator19 on October 20th, 2006 06:48 am (UTC)
"I didn't say you didn't deserve it," she said, staring pleadingly at him. "I-I like you, Blaise, and I want to try this."

She looked away from him, feeling defeated. It felt like no matter what she said, it wouldn't help. She wasn't sure if it was a good thing or not that Blaise had done those things over the summer. What he said made sense, but that didn't make it any better.

She knew she was expecting too much. She couldn't expect him to give up what he had always done; it was part of being a Slytherin, she understood. She just wondered if he could ever break the habit.
Blaise Zabini: Teasestygian_blaise on October 20th, 2006 07:00 am (UTC)
Blaise's hazel gaze watched Hermione's sad and worried expression as she turned her face away. He felt bad for how he had been treating her. But she was being so understanding, so sweet.

In one swift motion he slid an arm around her waist and pulled her into his chest. Without so much as a pause or a breath, he brought his lips down to meet hers, this time more forcefully than the last. In someways, it felt like tonight was their first kiss, although it was far from it. Maybe it was because he felt like he was in it for different reasons now.

Blaise brought his teeth down on Hermione's bottom lip, and when she gasped he took the opportunity to briefly dip his tongue into her mouth.
Hermione Granger: poseelf_liberator19 on October 20th, 2006 07:09 am (UTC)
Without thinking, Hermione slid her arms around Blaise's shoulders and neck, pulling herself deeper into the kiss. Her eyes fluttered closed as the kiss continued, sweet and yet forceful.

She felt safe, pressed against his hard body and wrapped in his arms. It had never been like this with Ron. Blaise just seemed to fit so much better.

At long last, she came to her senses slightly and pushed Blaise away lightly, breaking the kiss.

Still in his arms, she glanced up at him, her eyes searching his. "What does this mean?" she asked, hoping for an answer that might make some sense of this jumbled up world she had found herself in.
Blaise Zabini: Seductivestygian_blaise on October 20th, 2006 07:20 am (UTC)
Blaise rolled his eyes. "You want me to spell it out for you?" He laughed. Then, with a suddenly serious expression, "will you go out with me, Hermione Granger?"

He smiled. He felt a little odd, actually asking her to be his girlfriend, but not bad-odd, just new-odd.

He kept her in his arms as he asked the question. He liked how well her small figure fit there, how comfortable it was to have her hands against his chest.
Hermione Granger: gryff girlself_liberator19 on October 20th, 2006 07:33 am (UTC)
"Really?" she asked, looking up at him carefully. She had never been asked quite like that.

She saw him smiling, a rare occurance, and smiled also, finally feeling like at least something was going right this year.

"Yeah," she said finally, smiling happily at him.
Blaise Zabini: tummystygian_blaise on October 20th, 2006 07:40 am (UTC)
Bringing his face a couple inches closer to hers again, he chuckled.

"Yeah? That's it? Don't you mean, 'OH MERLIN BLAISE, I THOUGHT YOU WOULD NEVER ASK, YOU SEX GOD YOU!'" He paused, looking up into his forhead, as if pndering something. "Or you know, something like that."
Hermione Granger: Hogwartself_liberator19 on October 20th, 2006 07:53 am (UTC)
"Of course that's what I meant," she said jokingly, laughing and batting his arm lightly. "You just have to learn how to read between the lines."

She grinned again and stood on her tip-toes to kiss him lightly. When she pulled away, she smiled softly at him. "I'm glad I came tonight, Blaise."
Blaise Zabini: Smirkingstygian_blaise on October 20th, 2006 08:22 am (UTC)
"Me too, Hermione, me too." He smiled down at her for a moment, then took her hand. "Come on, walk me to my Common Room. I'd say I would walk you, but this way, if Filch catches us, I can't get in trouble."

He winked as she giggled at him, and taking one last look at the sky, tugged her towards the tower stairs.
